Dear Members,
There are many links between TB and Disability
i. TB is a disabling condition (spinal TB / TB meningitis)
ii. TB treatment causes disabilities (from injectables like the aminoglycosides and capreomycin)iii. Persons with disabilities may have difficulty accessing TB information and services
Therefore, TB will not be eliminated if these links are not addressed.
As we prepare for the 49th Union World Conference on Lung Health 24 to 27 October 2018 – The Hague, The Netherland, we need to share more ideas on how BEST to address TB and Disability especially in developing countries.
Masaka District Association of people with disabilities living with HIV/AIDS (MADIPHA) has embarked on the cause and we need both technical and financial support to reach out to more PWDs and their families.
