i would like to inform you that, Palestinian Medical Relief Society with
other health civil society organizations (Members of health sector in PNGO)
in Gaza  are calling for *a peaceful protest in solidarity *with  Palestinians
and their rights on Sunday April 8th at 11:00 am, in commemoration of World
Health Day which comes with the theme of *Universal Health Coverage* this
year. The activity aims at shedding light on the ongoing Israeli violations
against Palestinians and their right to health and to call for an end to
the blockade of Gaza so Palestinians can enjoy their health rights.

The protest is planned to take place near the eastern borders of Gaza city
as part of the Great March of Return which is a peaceful march agreed by
all Palestinians. Its activities started on Friday March 30th, which marked
Land Day, and are planned to continue until May 15th, which commemorates
the Palestinian Nakbeh (or Catastrophe).

Activities of the Great March of Return include peaceful protests near the
Gaza Strip borders. Although people have various activities as part of the
march and gather at the border every day, Fridays usually witness the
heaviest presence for masses near the borders and many victims fall on
Fridays.

On March 30th, at least 16 Palestinians were killed through direct
targeting by Israeli soldiers with live ammunition. Over 1500 others were
injured either with live bullets or as a result of gas inhalation, where
Israeli soldiers fired tear gas and other types of gas bombs towards
Palestinians who gathered near the borders.
