*POST - SYMPOSIUM WORKSHOPS ON PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH*
Following the Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (GSHSR) in Cape
Town from 30th September – 2nd October, EQUINET and partners will be
hosting two post-Symposium workshops on PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH (PAR)
IN PEOPLE CENTRED HEALTH SYSTEMS. The workshops seek to strengthen
networking on and skills in the practice of PAR and will make available to
participants the new reader on PAR in health systems research that is being
launched at the Symposium.
1. A one-day international workshop on 4th October on *PARTICIPATORY
ACTION RESEARCH IN PEOPLE-CENTRED HEALTH SYSTEMS* that aims to exchange
information/experience internationally and build learning on and capacities
in PAR. Hosted by EQUINET and ALAMES, this workshop is open to applicants
from ALL global regions.

2. A three-day skills workshop on 4-6 October on *PARTICIPATORY ACTION
RESEARCH IN PEOPLE CENTRED HEALTH SYSTEMS*. Hosted by EQUINET, this
workshop will include the one-day workshop above as the first day and a
follow-up two days that aims to deepen capacities in the use of
participatory action research (PAR) on 5th-6th October. This complete
workshop is only for delegates from East and Southern African (ESA)
countries (as an activity of the pra4equity learning network in EQUINET).
ESA participants will be automatically included in the one-day workshop so
do not need to apply twice.
