Lay health workers (LHW) should ideally be supported by the community. The
past history teaches us something else: communities do not support them,
once the NGO or the Government withdraw and/or incentives wither.
WHO is now re-encouraging LHW, in the frame of reviving PHC. However nobody
in WHO or other institutions of 'experts' produces a *single* experience of
*l*ocal community sustaining its own LHW, on a *long term* , with mutual
satisfaction.
A true,single experience,please.
