 Well, the private sector in Australia in maternity care certainly doesn’t
provide good value for anyone’s money considering the exceptionally high
level of medical intervention that they use (up to 60% caesarean rates for
first time mums in some private hospitals here) – which is certainly being
questioned. It seems to be the same in Brazil I think.

In South Australia they won’t even put their names to their statistics so
that consumers could see what they might get (but consumer groups are
looking into this).
