*YOUNG Public Health Nutrition NETWORK*

Many of this century's health challenges will be related to food and
agriculture policies: food safety, security and cost; famines and obesity;
climate change etc. The field of public health nutrition will therefore
emerge as a high profile and important profession globally.

Every year, hundreds of young people trained in public health nutrition
graduate around the world. They wish to make a meaningful contribution to
the international arena of public health and to successfully integrate into
the global health workforce. In an effort to bring together these young
professionals, a group of young public health nutritionists founded the
Young Public Health Nutrition (YPHN) Network.

The vision of the YPHN Network is to advance and promote international
public health nutrition by uniting young public health nutritionists and
facilitating collaboration and cooperation among them.

In order to pursue this, the YPHN Network aims: to devise approaches for
young public health nutritionists to influence relevant policies; to provide
opportunities to enable the exchange of individuals, and ideas across
institutions and networks, within and between countries; and to collaborate
with other public health nutrition initiatives, including the Steering
Committee of the New Nutrition Science project and the World Public Health
Nutrition Association.

The YPHN Network is open to all who are interested in improving the next
generation of public health nutrition: 'young', proficient and more senior
experts in public health nutrition, with experience and knowledge to pass on
to the others, are welcome to join.

A blog site has been created, and is accessible to all interested
individuals through the link: http://yphnutrition.blogspot.com/.
