PHA-Exchange> STATEMENT OF THE MESOAMERICAN PHM CHAPTER

 STATEMENT 

The Regional Committee for the Promotion of Community Health because 
of the actual scaling up of military violence of the State of Israel 
against the people of Lebanon and Palestine 

DECLARES:
. Our profound concern for the life and security of the 
civilian population involved in this conflict.
. Our solidarity with the families of victims of this 
conflict and of those who have been forced to leave their places of 
residence for reasons of insecurity.
. Our total rejection of a military solution to this 
conflict. 

DEMANDS OF THE PARTS IN CONFLICT:
. Total respect for the fundamental rights of the civil 
population involved in this conflict; especially in the south of 
Lebanon and Palestine.
. Immediate cessation of all military acts that are causing 
the death and destruction of the civilian population
. A search for mechanisms to solve this conflict that are 
based on actions that do not include military solutions. 

WE DEMAND THAT THE GOVERNMENTS AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY: 
. Become involved immediately in actions of solidarity and 
provision of humanitarian aid to the affected population. 
. Make the necessary diplomatic efforts to promote the 
conclusion of the use of military forces.
. The Government of the United States of America cease 
immediately its military support to the State of Israel. 
. That the United Nations act with belligerence based on the 
humanitarian principles that gave origin to the organization and to 
make specific agreements in favor of peace in the Middle East in 
general and particularly in this conflict.
