    The Global Forum for Health Research announces a call for abstracts of presentations for its 2006 annual meeting



    Forum 10, Cairo, Egypt, from 29 October to 2 November 2006 

    Theme: Combating disease and promoting health.

    The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 31 January 2006.

    The Global Forum for Health Research invites you to submit an abstract for Forum 10 in any area of health research relevant to promoting health, combating diseases and improving global health in general and the health of poor and marginalized populations in particular. 

    Papers addressing these areas from a national, sub-national or regional perspective are particularly invited. The Global Forum welcomes submissions from all parts of the world and encourages participation from lower income countries. 

    Submissions of abstracts from students are especially encouraged and the best papers will be specially featured in Forum 10.

    The Global Forum for Health Research is an independent international foundation promoting more health research to combat the neglected diseases and conditions that are major sources of ill health in developing countries and to reduce other inequities in health and health research. Its annual meeting provides the opportunity for presentations and exchange of views on key issues on the global health agenda. Participants from a broad range of constituencies are expected to be present: health and development ministries, multilateral and bilateral agencies, research-oriented bodies and universities, NGOs and civil society, the private sector, the media.
