PHA-Exchange> French campaign on World Bank in health sector

Dear all,

Agir ici and 7 other French NGOs are currently running an advocacy campaign
promoting a "universal access to healthcare". It focuses on World Bank
policies in the health sector trying to underscore the dramatic
consequencies of these policies on access to health for most vulnerable
people.You will find attached a pdf. version of the campaign and the english
translation.

Since the beginning of the campaign, about 17 000 citizens have sent
postcards to the President of the World Bank, to the French Executive
Director and to the French minister of finance. Through the postcards,
citizens are urging the World Bank to stop considering health as a mere
commodity and to cease promoting privatization of health services and health
financing systems.

We hope you will be interested in our initiative. We would also be very
interested to know about your work on this issue and see how we could
possibly make the link between our actions. The running of our campaign
gives us the opportunity to meet decision-makers and discuss proposals of
reform. To this respect, we think it would be very useful to discuss all
together the major key points that should be raised during such meetings.
