Dear All, Greetings
 The World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) has started 
today in Johannesburg, South Africa. More than 100 Heads of States and 
15000 delegates representing the governments, private sector, and
non-governmental organizations are expected to participate during the 
week long Summit, from August 26 to September 4, 2002.

The paper, Linking Poverty Reduction and Environmental Challenges: 
Policy Challenges and Opportunities, will be presented in one of the WSSD
Sessions. The final version of the paper (in English) has been placed at
the electronic discussion website and is available at the following URL:

The French and Spanish versions of the paper will be placed at the 
website during this week.

You may follow the latest deliberations of the Summit at the following
