met in Bangkok from 28^th to 30^th of January has decided
to go in for participatorily drawing up a five year strategy document. The main
purpose of this effort would  to to carry
the movement forward in achieving health for all as a fundamental human right.
It has been some time since such an effort was carried out, and given the
changes- both externally in the geo-political and global health systems
environment and internally in our organization, it was felt useful at this
juncture to produce a strategic framework and plan that would  <u></u><u></u></span></p><p style="margin:12pt 0cm 12pt 36pt"><span lang="EN">1.<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"Times New Roman"">    
</span></span><span lang="EN">Inform and guide PHM’s progress
towards its goals and be responsive to emerging opportunities and challenges in
the global and regional landscapes;<u></u><u></u></span></p><p style="margin-left:36pt;text-align:justify;line-height:120%"><span lang="EN">2.<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"Times New Roman"">    
</span></span><span lang="EN">Engage in a participatory
strategic planning process that would ensure PHM activists perspectives,
interests, and resources are reflected, and support ownership of such a plan so
as to improve its successful implementation; and</span></p><p style="margin-left:36pt;text-align:justify;line-height:120%"><span lang="EN">3.<span style="font-stretch:normal;font-size:7pt;line-height:normal;font-family:"Times New Roman"">    
</span></span><span lang="EN">Demonstrate PHM’s existing and
potential value and contribution to achieving Health for All in a way that is
persuasive to existing and potential donors and partners.</span></p><p style="margin:12pt 0cm"><span lang="EN">Development of the PHM strategic plan for
2020-2025 will take place from February through June, involving PHM activists
in all countries, regions, programmes and thematic circles around the world.
The PHM Global Secretariat, Steering Council and Coordinating Commission
actively encourage all PHM activists to contribute to PHM’s new strategy. Two
long-standing PHM activists – Lexi Nolen from the US and Ravi Ram from PHM
Kenya – will serve as co-facilitators for the strategic planning process.<u></u><u></u></span></p><p style="margin:12pt 0cm"><span lang="EN">On 28-30 January, the PHM steering
council held a workshop with the facilitators to outline the content and
process for developing the strategic plan. Lexi and Ravi will work with the
Steering Council to engage all of you in defining PHM’s directions for the next
several years, including regional consultations. They will be in touch with
more information.<u></u><u></u></span></p><p style="margin:12pt 0cm"><span lang="EN">If you have any questions, kindly contact

work with the facilitators from within the Steering Council. This group
