<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"">A number of member states have requested this item be considered. The Secretariat highlights “the crucial role of national ministries of health and the public health community in advocating, inspiring, and guiding multisectoral action to prevent violence and mitigate its consequences at global and national levels; and the repeated calls for the elimination of violence against women” and undertakes to summarise current action and future needs.
