The Joint Action and Learning Initiative on National and Global Responsibilities for Health (JALI) will be holding a consultation to discuss the proposal for a Framework Convention on Global Health (FCGH) aimed at closing global and domestic health inequities at the PHA3 self-organizing workshop:

JALI: Towards a Framework Convention on Global Health

An FCGH would be grounded in the right to health, ensure universal health coverage, address social determinants of health, raise the priority of health in other sectors (e.g., trade), and enhance accountability. An effective treaty that countries meaningfully implement will only be possible with support and involvement of social movements concerned about global health, such as the People's Health Movement. We encourage you to attend JALI's self-organizing workshop during PHA3 to learn more about the value of an FCGH; to share your views, concerns, and expectations, including how an FCGH could advance your own efforts, and possibilities for further connections between JALI and PHM (and your own organizations), and; to learn how you can become involved.

The workshop will take place Monday, July 9, 17:00-19:00. Please see the final PHA3 program for the location. We look forward to seeing you!
