<span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"">According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) commissioned study "<b><span style="font-family:"Cambria","serif""><a href="http://typo3.fao.org/fileadmin/user_upload/fsn/docs/GobalFoodLosses_web.pdf" target="_blank"><span style="color:#c8252c;text-decoration:none">Global Food Losses and Food Waste</span></a></span></b>" roughly one third or 1.3 billion tons of the food produced in the world for human consumption every year gets lost or wasted: <u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:18.75pt;line-height:13.5pt"><u></u><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Symbol"><span>·<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"">         </span></span></span><u></u><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"">Industrialized and developing countries dissipate roughly the same quantities of food, respectively 670 and 630 million tons;<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:18.75pt;line-height:13.5pt"><u></u><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Symbol"><span>·<span style="font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"">         </span></span></span><u></u><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"">Every year, consumers in rich countries waste almost as much food (222 million tons) as the entire net food production of sub-Saharan Africa (230 million tons); <u></u><u></u></span></p>
