<p class="MsoNormal">A group of researchers based at Brown University has just released a new assessment of the financial and human costs of the US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan since 2001. It estimates the number of war dead at 225,000 and the number
of war refugees and displaced persons at almost 8 million. Financial costs are estimated at $3.2 trillion or more in constant dollars. For more information, see
