<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR">In line with the International People’s Health
University (IPHU) in Senegal taking place from the 31st January to 11th of
February, PHM Global (<a href="http://www.phmovement.org">www.phmovement.org</a>), would like to convene civil society
representatives interested in discussing a way forward to strengthen and
support health advocacy and activism in Senegal and in the region within the
principles of comprehensive primary health care and with a focus on social
determinants of health. The meeting will also discuss plans and preparations
for the 3rd People’s Health Assembly (PHA3) taking place in July 2012.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"><span lang="FR">Aims of
the meeting: </span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR">•<span style="mso-tab-count:1"> </span>To
show case PHM global and in the region as well as civil society action within
Senegal and also more broadly in Africa in order better link people’s struggle
for health on different levels;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR">•<span style="mso-tab-count:1"> </span>To
promote regional co-operation and solidarity within PHM. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR">•<span style="mso-tab-count:1"> </span>To
create opportunity to mobilise and strengthen activities in the region towards
PHA3.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"><span lang="FR">The
suggested outline of the meeting would include:</span></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR">- Review of civil society advocacy and
activism around health in Senegal, and the region </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR">-Presentation on PHM programmes and future
plans which include PHA3, Global Health Watch 3 (GHW3), Right to Health
Campaign (RTHC) and the IPHU- a vehicle for advocacy and activism towards
Health for All</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="FR">-Discussion on strengthening advocacy and
activism and mobilisation for PHA3</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"><span lang="FR">The
desired outcomes of the meeting include:</span></b></p>

region focusing on activities to promote<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">
</span>comprehensive primary health care principles and approach towards
achieving health for all in Senegal and in the region (who, what, timeframes,
etc).</span></p>

work together in a number of meaningful ways to build a strong movement.</span></p>
