<h3>Launch of the 2010 Human Development Report</h3>

<p>UNDP’s
<a href="http://e2ma.net/go/6809348157/208332094/215681506/36353/goto:http://hdr.undp.org/en/reports/global/hdr2010/" target="_blank">20<sup>th</sup> anniversary Human Development Report</a> –“<strong>The Real Wealth of Nations: Pathways to Human Development</strong>” – will be launched on November 4<sup>th</sup> at the United Nations by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, UNDP Administrator Helen Clark, and Nobel laureate Amartya Sen. </p>
<p>The 2010 HDR’s lead author, Jeni Klugman, will present its main findings, including its revealing review of global development data and trends of recent decades, and the introduction of new human development indices. Among those new indices is the
<a href="http://e2ma.net/go/6809348157/208332094/215681507/36353/goto:http://hdr.undp.org/en/reports/global/hdr2010/mpi/" target="_blank">Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI)</a>, created by the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative and released publicly in July, and the Report's original Human Development Index (HDI) adjusted to reflect gender disparities and other inequalities.</p>
<p>As part of the 20<sup>th</sup> anniversary commemoration, the Human Development Report Office will republish all previous HDRs in searchable PDF and e-book formats for free downloading. The HDR website will also be re-launched with extensive, interactive new data resources covering most countries in the world. Visitors will be able to create their own development indices using new tools and the latest statistics. As an additional feature, the Human Development Report is now on

<p>As part of the ongoing series of materials marking the 20th anniversary of the Human Development Report, we would like to share with you and your colleagues a free public online course entitled, the
<a href="http://e2ma.net/go/6809348157/208332094/215681509/36353/goto:http://hdr.undp.org/en/humandev/learnmore/title,20584,en.html" target="_blank">Human Development Journey</a>. The course highlights the fundamentals of the human development approach and explains how it is applied to development work.</p>
<p>It is available online and can be downloaded for offline use in classrooms and workshops. We encourage you to share this course with all your development partners.</p>

<p>This course introduces the concepts and principles of human development, and explains why the approach is important to the work of the United Nations Development Programme and its partners. The course covers topics on measuring human development, policy advocacy, and application of the approach across such topics as poverty reduction, democratic governance, the environment and climate change.</p>
<p>This course is available free of charge in English, French and Spanish. UNDP does not provide certificates for its completion.</p>

<h3>Lancement du Rapport sur du développement humain 2010</h3>

<p>Le
<a href="http://e2ma.net/go/6809348157/208332094/215681517/36353/goto:http://hdr.undp.org/fr/rapports/mondial/rdh2010/" target="_blank">20<sup>e</sup> anniversaire du Rapport sur le développement humain</a> du PNUD - <strong>La Vraie Richesse des Nations : Voies vers le Développement humain</strong> - sera lancé le 4 novembre aux Nations Unies par le Secrétaire Général de l’ONU Ban Ki-moon, l’Administratrice du PNUD Helen Clark et le Prix Nobel Amartya Sen. </p>
<p>L’auteure principale du RDH de 2010, Jeni Klugman, présentera ses principales conclusions, y compris sa révision éclairante des données et tendances sur le développement mondial des dernières décennies, et l’introduction de nouveaux indices de développement humain. Parmi ces nouveaux indices on trouve l’
<a href="http://e2ma.net/go/6809348157/208332094/215681518/36353/goto:http://hdr.undp.org/fr/rapports/mondial/rdh2010/ipm/" target="_blank">Indice de pauvreté multidimensionnelle (MPI)</a>, créé par l’organisation « Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative » et rendu public en juillet, et l’Indice de Développement humain original du RDH ajusté pour refléter les disparités entre les sexes et autres inégalités.</p>
<p>Dans le cadre des célébrations du 20<sup>e</sup> anniversaire, le Bureau du Rapport sur le Développement humain va republier tous les RDH précédents sous la forme de documents PDF consultables et de livres électroniques (livrels) téléchargeables gratuitement. Le site Internet du RDH connaîtra un nouveau lancement le 4 novembre avec de nouvelles ressources et données exhaustives et interactives couvrant la plupart des pays dans le monde. <h3>ILanzamiento del Informe sobre Desarrollo Humano 2010</h3>

<p>El próximo 4 de noviembre se celebrará el lanzamiento de la
<a href="http://e2ma.net/go/6809348157/208332094/215681529/36353/goto:http://hdr.undp.org/es/informes/mundial/idh2010/" target="_blank">Edición del Vigésimo Aniversario del Informe sobre Desarrollo Humano</a> del PNUD, titulada “L<strong>a verdadera riqueza de las naciones: Caminos al desarrollo humano</strong>” en la sede de las Naciones Unidas. La presentación correrá a cargo del Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas Ban Ki-moon, la Administradora del PNUD Helen Clark y el premio Nobel Amartya Sen.</p>
<p>Jeni Klugman, principal autor del IDH 2010, expondrá las principales conclusiones, entre las que se incluye su reveladora revisión de los datos relativos al desarrollo global y las tendencias de las últimas décadas. Asimismo, presentará nuevos índices de desarrollo humano, por ejemplo, el
<a href="http://e2ma.net/go/6809348157/208332094/215681530/36353/goto:http://hdr.undp.org/es/informes/mundial/idh2010/ipm/" target="_blank">Índice Multidimensional de la Pobreza</a> (MPI, por sus siglas en inglés), creado por la Iniciativa de Oxford sobre la Pobreza y el Oficina encargada del Informe sobre Desarrollo Humano, dado a conocer en julio, y la modificación del Índice de Pobreza Humana original que se incluye en los IDH.</p>
<p>Como parte de la conmemoración del vigésimo aniversario, la Oficina encargada del Informe sobre Desarrollo Humano volverá a publicar todos los IDH anteriores en formato PDF y libro electrónico, que se podrán descargar gratuitamente. La página del IDH, también será renovada el 4 de noviembre, con nuevos recursos interactivos que cubrirán la situación de la mayoría de los países del mundo. Los internautas que visiten la página podrán crear sus propios índices de desarrollo gracias a una nueva herramienta y a las estadísticas más recientes.
