<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">Greetings PHM --<div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Some of you may be aware that the Fifth World Water Forum is planned for next month, March 16-22 in Istanbul Turkey. The World Water Forum itself is a privately-run consortium of businesses and international financial institutions using the UN as a cover to promote water privatization and other people-unfriendly policies. ( <a href="http://www.worldwaterforum5.org/">http://www.worldwaterforum5.org/</a>)A coalition of international groups, working together with two distinct Turkish coalitions, is organizing a week of counter-events, including panels, presentations, a press conference, and a march. </div><div> I am working with the planning committees to develop the alternative events, and there is strong interest in presentations about water and health. While there is of course no funding to bring anyone to Istanbul, it will be an important moment for organizing; if any PHM members are able to attend, with support from your organizations, I would be very interested in arranging speaking possibilities. We also have strong contacts to alternative media in Turkey, and would arrange interviews with journalists for any PHM members who can make it to Istanbul.</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Anyone interested, please contact me and I will help make arrangements.<br></div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>Thanks much.<br></div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>-- Jeff Conant, PHM USA<br></div><div><br></div><div><br><div apple-content-edited="true"> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0; "><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; "><div style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div><div>Jeff Conant</div><div>International Research and Communications Coordinator</div><div>Food and Water Watch</div><div>25 Stillman St., Ste 200</div><div>San Francisco, CA, 94107</div><div>Tel: 415-293-9905</div><div>Fax: 415-293-9906</div><div>Skype: jeffconant</div><div><a href="mailto:jconant@fwwatch.org">jconant@fwwatch.org</a></div></div><div><br></div><div>“Is it to be enough to set foot on a plot of common ground, in order to be able to call yourself at once the master of it?
