Free Trade Agreement with Peru on<BR>Wednesday 7 December 2005 (see below).
<BR><BR>This will have huge implications for health care in Peru, as the deal
most<BR>probably has "TRIPS-plus" intellectual property rules that will
affect<BR>access to affordable medicines and the realization of the right to
health in<BR>Peru.<BR><BR>As the text is not publicly available we do not yet
know the full extent of<BR>these "TRIPS-plus" rules.<BR><BR>The US is still
negotiating FTAs with Ecuador and Colombia, Thailand and the<BR>countries of the
Southern African Customs Union (Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia,<BR>South Africa and
