<P class=body>ActionAid International calls all interested institutions to
submit research proposals for a program to increase the capacity of Americas’
region civil society, especially farmers’ organizations and social movements, to
participate in and influence the current agricultural trade negotiations. </P>
<P align=justify>The proposals selected will be financed by the program Building
Agriculture, Development and Trade Latin-American Network, co-financed by IDRC
(International Development Research Centre). </P>
<P align=justify>Research themes should be identified by interested
researchers/research institutions under the following topic areas:</P>
<UL>
<LI>
<DIV align=justify>Special and differential treatment, food security and food
sovereignty in developing countries. </DIV>
<LI>
<DIV align=justify>Market access, agribusiness and direct & indirect
impacts to family farming and poverty reduction.</DIV>
<LI>
<DIV align=justify>Large corporations and the implementation of current trade
agreements on agriculture and its impacts in employment and family
farming.</DIV>
<LI>
<DIV align=justify>Impact analysis of AoA/WTO trade liberalization on small
farmers, food security and food sovereignty.</DIV>
<LI>
<DIV align=justify>Impact analysis of AoA/WTO on domestic policies.</DIV>
<LI>
<DIV align=justify>Comparative analysis of the implications of trade
agreements’ agriculture chapters on small-scale farming. </DIV></LI></UL>
<P align=justify>ActionAid wishes to invite Expressions of Interest (EoI) to
develop research and posterior full proposals which will be evaluated by the
Research Scientific Committee. </P>
<P align=justify>The project call has a global value of GBP 29.410,00 to be
allocated between 7 and 10 projects. Thus, the minimum value allocated to each
will be GBP 2.941,00. </P></FONT><SPAN
