activists are urging governments to ratify and implement the first global health
treaty, formally known as the World Health Organization Framework Convention on
Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC). With 79 ratifications to date, public health
and corporate accountability advocates have made tremendous progress toward
ensuring the global tobacco treaty’s life-saving impact.

activists in more than 20 countries will organize events as part of the
<STRONG>7th International Week of Resistance to Tobacco Transnationals</STRONG>
(IWR2005) organized by the Network for Accountability of Tobacco Transnationals
(NATT). This week’s events coincide with the International Release of the
<B><I><A href="http://www.stopcorporateabuse.org "><FONT color=#0000ff>Global
Tobacco Treaty Action Guide: Protecting National Health Policies from
International Tobacco Industry Interference</FONT></A></I></B>, produced by
Corporate Accountability International and NATT. </FONT></SPAN></P>

Action Guide</I></B> is a collection of case studies on how tobacco
transnationals like Philip Morris/Altria, British American Tobacco and
Japan Tobacco International are attempting to interfere with health policy, and
what public health and corporate accountability advocates are doing to expose
and challenge this interference. Drawing on first-hand stories from allies in
