PHM Monthly Meeting on 31.07.2021

This online meeting focused on Palestinian Issue. PHM Sri Lanka was graced
by the guest speaker Ms. Delen De La Paz from PHM Philippines. The agenda
was arranged as follows;

-          welcome speech



_            Introduction

-          Presentation by the guest speaker followed by a Sinhalese
translation of the same.

-          Discussion

-          Conclusion

The meeting commenced at 07:00 pm Sri Lankan time on 31.07.2021 with
participation of 25, PHM Sri Lankan activists. Having greeted Ms. Delen,
convener of PHM Sri Lanka Ms. Menu De Silva given the welcome speech at the
beginning of the meeting to show warmth and gratitude's to Ms. Delen and
those who have taken pains to make their presence. Afterwards  Mr. Sirimal
Peiris, the Advisor, made a brief introduction of the agenda on the day.
Ms. Delen commenced her presentation thereafter. She explained the
situation in Palestine from the very beginnings to-date providing details
of how imperialist needs have been fulfilled by the creation of Israel that
paved the way for Palestinians to become underprivileged and destitute in
their own country and after effects of biased decisions of the UN. She used
a PowerPoint presentation to clarify the issues. As well, she mentioned the
continuing struggle to free Ms.  Shatha Odeh, the Director of Palestinian
Health Work Committee who is being detained on false allegations.

 This followed a discussion session. With this, the meeting was concluded.
