The Peoples Health Movement has had a long history of working in solidarity
with the Palestinian people.  The recent arrest and incarceration of one of
PHMs leaders and Steering Council member,  Ms Shatha Odeh, who has been
heading one of the largest health programmes for Palestinian people,
creates a new urgency for international solidarity of health and human
rights movements for demanding an end to this illegal and immoral
incarceration, and to the disruption by Israeli forces of health and relief
work that her organization - HWC has been spearheading. (see PHM statement

Even as the Covid-19 pandemic rages, there has been an increase of Israel’s
ferocious attacks on Palestinian territories and continuing crimes against
humanity and newer forms of apartheid - like in the availability of
vaccine! Over the years, health programs and health workers have scaled up
their response to the dire effects of Israel’s occupation on people’s
health care - but this too is now under attack. There is a need in this
hour of crisis to reiterate and renew the understanding and solidarity
built in the past, once again among this generation of health workers,
peoples and countries globally.


To make our protest heard on the occasion of one month of Shatha’s
incarceration (she was arrested on July 7th), and to renew understanding
and solidarity, the War and Conflict Thematic Group of PHM has taken the
initiative to organize a webinar on behalf of the PHM.


This webinar is on 7th August 2 pm UTC. (Zoom Link: https://bit.ly/3ChTnQP)
. It would be good to encourage many activists who have not heard much
about the Palestine experience or of PHM's engagement with it to attend. As
we define it at the end of the webinar, the participants will 1) understand
the root of the longstanding struggle of the Palestinians 2) learn and
appreciate the pearls and perils of health work in areas of conflict and 3)
draw more solidarity to the current plight of the Palestinians and

Le Mouvement pour la Santé des Peuples a une longue histoire de travail en
solidarité avec le peuple palestinien.  L'arrestation et l'incarcération
récentes de l'une des dirigeantes du MSP et membre du Conseil de direction,
Mme Shatha Odeh, qui dirigeait l'un des plus grands programmes de santé
pour le peuple palestinien, crée une nouvelle urgence pour la solidarité

Alors même que la pandémie de Covid-19 fait rage, les attaques féroces
d'Israël sur les territoires palestiniens se multiplient, les crimes contre
l'humanité se poursuivent et de nouvelles formes d'apartheid apparaissent -
comme la disponibilité des vaccins ! Au fil des ans, les programmes de
santé et les travailleurs de la santé ont intensifié leur réponse aux
effets désastreux de l'occupation israélienne sur les soins de santé de la
population - mais cela aussi est maintenant attaqué. En cette heure de
crise, il est nécessaire de réitérer et de renouveler la compréhension et
la solidarité construites dans le passé, une fois de plus parmi cette
génération d'agents de santé, de peuples et de pays du monde entier.


Pour faire entendre notre protestation à l'occasion du premier mois
d'incarcération de Shatha (elle a été arrêtée le 7 juillet), et pour
renouveler la compréhension et la solidarité, le groupe thématique Guerre
et conflit du PHM a pris l'initiative d'organiser un webinaire au nom du
PHM.


Ce webinaire aura lieu le 7 août à 14 heures UTC. (Lien Zoom :

nombreux militants qui n'ont pas beaucoup entendu parler de l'exipince
palestinienne ou de l'engagement du PHM dans ce domaine. Comme nous le
définissons à la fin du webinaire, les participants 1) comprendront les
racines de la lutte de longue date des Palestiniens 2) apprendront et
apprécieront les perles et les périls du travail de santé dans les zones de
conflit et 3) seront plus solidaires de la situation actuelle des
Palestiniens et surtout de ses travailleurs de santé. La note conceptuelle

encarcelamiento de una de las líderes del MSP y miembro del Consejo
Directivo, la Sra. Shatha Odeh, que ha estado dirigiendo uno de los mayores
programas de salud para el pueblo palestino, crea una nueva urgencia para
la solidaridad internacional de los movimientos de salud y derechos humanos
para exigir el fin de este encarcelamiento ilegal e inmoral, y para la
interrupción por las fuerzas israelíes de la salud y el trabajo de socorro

Incluso mientras la pandemia del Covid-19 hace estragos, han aumentado los
feroces ataques de Israel contra los territorios palestinos y los continuos
crímenes contra la humanidad y las nuevas formas de apartheid, ¡como la
disponibilidad de la vacuna! A lo largo de los años, los programas de salud
y los trabajadores sanitarios han aumentado su respuesta a los terribles
efectos de la ocupación israelí en la atención sanitaria de la población,
pero esto también está siendo atacado ahora. En esta hora de crisis es
necesario reiterar y renovar el entendimiento y la solidaridad construidos
en el pasado, una vez más entre esta generación de trabajadores de la
salud, los pueblos y los países a nivel mundial.


Para hacer oír nuestra protesta con motivo de un mes de encarcelamiento de
Shatha (fue detenida el 7 de julio), y para renovar el entendimiento y la
solidaridad, el Grupo Temático de Guerra y Conflicto del PHM ha tomado la
iniciativa de organizar un webinar en nombre del PHM.


Este webinar es el 7 de agosto a las 2 pm UTC. (Enlace Zoom:

que no han oído hablar mucho de la exiperiencia de Palestina o del
compromiso del PHM con ella. Tal y como lo definimos al final del webinar,

palestinos 2) aprenderán y apreciarán las perlas y los peligros del trabajo
sanitario en zonas de conflicto y 3) se solidarizarán más con la situación
actual de los palestinos y especialmente de sus trabajadores sanitarios. La

حتى مع تفشي جائحة كوفيد -19 ، كانت هناك زيادة في الهجمات الإسرائيلية الشرسة
على الأراضي الفلسطينية والجرائم المستمرة ضد الإنسانية والأشكال الجديدة من
الفصل العنصري - كما هو الحال في توفر اللقاح! على مر السنين ، صعدت البرامج
الصحية والعاملون في مجال الصحة من استجابتهم للآثار الوخيمة للاحتلال
الإسرائيلي على الرعاية الصحية للناس - لكن هذا أيضًا يتعرض للهجوم الآن. هناك
حاجة في هذه الساعة من الأزمة لتكرار وتجديد التفاهم والتضامن الذي بُني في
الماضي ، مرة أخرى بين هذا الجيل من العاملين الصحيين والشعوب والبلدان على
