Dear Friends,

The world over we are facing the threat of COVID-19. This has acquired the
levels of a pandemic now. In such times, the importance of a robust Public
Health Systems comes to the fore strongly .

Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (JSA, PHM India) and All India People's Science
Network (AIPSN) have issued a Statement *calling on the government to ACT
NOW- to save lives, to strengthen public health services and to safeguard
livelihoods.*

A *Background Note - Understanding the COVID -19 epidemic and the demands
of the People's Science **Movements and People's Health Movements *has also
been developed.
