Iraq. The mission is an initiative of the humanitarian and solidarity =
organisations S.O.S. Children of Iraq - Belgium and S.O.S. Children of =
Iraq - Netherlands, in cooperation with the ngo Medical Aid for the =
Third World.=20

The mission, fashioned as 'peace inspectors', wants to testify against =
the current threats of war that the United States and Great Britain are =
mounting against Iraq. They will also be updated on the continuing =
devastating effects of the sanctions imposed on Iraq, notably on their =
consequences on the health of the Iraqi children. Finally, they want to =
examine the consequences of the use of ammunition with depleted uranium =
by the Western forces during the Gulf War. Gulf War veterans, themselves =
afflicted with the Gulf syndrome, will meet with Iraqi victims and =
apologise to the Iraqi people.=20

The delegation consists of some 120 people from 15 countries: Algeria, =
Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, =
Italy, Luxemburg, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and =
Switzerland.=20
