PHM-Exch> Sexuality and reproductive rights - International Workshop Report

Dear all,

In November 2012, at the first global CBR congress, an international workshop was organized on "Social relationships, sexuality and reproductive rights for persons with disabilities". Around 90 persons from 25 countries including persons with disabilities, DPO representatives, family members, government representatives, professionals and CBR workers took part in this workshop.

The participants recognized that limited information exists about this key issue that affects millions of lives, especially from the developing world. They also felt that safe spaces where such issues can be discussed and shared are extremely limited. They looked at the common barriers faced by persons with disabilities as well as, shared positive examples from different countries.

Part two of this workshop looked at issues related to violence, abuse and sexual abuse. The report of this workshop is being prepared. However, presentations from this workshop session are already available for download at:
