NGOs have an exciting opportunity to tell the UN what we want the
governments to do about Violence Against Women and Girls.

Eliminating all kind of violence against women and girls is fundamental for
the development of humanity.****

*1. Millennia2015 Community recommends to:*

1.1. Step out of harmful cultural customs and promoting egalitarian ethos
between men and women;****

1.2. Condemn perpetrators of violence and effectively carry out the
sentences;****

1.3. Educate boys and men about respecting women and girls and promoting
gender equality as a key driver for sustainable development and better
futures;****

1.4. Educate women and girls about their Human rights, developing
consciousness about the laws that protect and empower them;****

1.5. Fight globally against gender stereotypes with the voluntary
implication of Medias.****

*2. Governments and international authorities should:*****

2.1. Condemn sexual violence in all countries as crimes against humanity,
international laws and treaties;****

2.2. Integrate projects delivering justice to victims of sexual violence
including programmes for emergency, recovery with access to medical care
and to justice;****

2.3. Implement policies of primary prevention of violence against all
women, girls including disabled women;****

2.4. Develop programmes of education, from childhood to lifelong learning,
implementing the knowledge and respect of Human rights, applying gender
equality, empowering women and promoting gender cooperation towards
sustainable development;****

2.5 Enact or amend laws designed to promote equality between women and men
regarding equal employment, equal compensation, equal participation in
government, equality in educational opportunities, and equal access to
health care.****

Developing and implementing those recommendations is strategic to change
mentalities, to enforce respect of women and girls, gender equality,
cooperation and harmony between women and men towards sustainable
development and social welfare on the long run.****
