********SAVE THE DATE******

*Launch of** **The Lancet** Family Planning Series*****

*The Lancet* will be publishing a major new Series reviewing the evidence
for the effects of population and family planning on peoples’ well-being
and the environment. The Series will appear ahead of a major meeting – the
London Summit on Family Planning– hosted by the UK Government on Wednesday
July 11. The Summit will bring together participants from across the world
to mobilise global action supporting the rights of 120 million additional
women and girls to access family planning without coercion or
discrimination. The new *Lancet* Series will bring together the latest
thinking underpinning these crucial deliberations, showing how lack of
access to family planning carries a huge price, not only in terms of
women’s and children’s health and survival but also in economic terms. ****

A symposium of the six papers, followed by a panel discussion led by Dr
Richard Horton, Editor-in-chief of* **The Lancet*, will be held on Monday July
9.****

*WHEN: 11:30am – 5:30pm (UK time), Monday July 9, 2012*****

*WHERE: John Snow lecture theatre, London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine, Keppel Street, WC1E 7HT. Nearest tubes: Warren Street (Victoria
