Occupy Wall St and Occupy movements in cities and towns across the country
have opened up great opportunities to link the struggles for social justice
with public health. An APHA panel session will discuss this
important and exciting development of the Occupy movements along with
popular protests around the world. *The panel (Session 4339) will be on
**TUESDAY, NOV. 1st at 2:30 PM in ROOM 147-B of the Convention Center
(WCC)*.
Panelists will include health activists participating in the movements in
Egypt, Wisconsin, Baltimore, NY and elsewhere.
After the session, join panelists in a march to the nearby Occupy DC site to
show solidarity of public health activists with Occupy DC and to demand
healthcare for all instead of a system that delivers health care services
only for profits for the 1% at the expense of health for the 99%.
