communication about childhood vaccinations between parents and health care
providers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).*





Purpose of the online consultation

COMMVAC is a multi-partner research project that aims to build research
evidence for improving communication about childhood vaccinations with
parents and communities in LMICs (for more information, see: www.commvac.com).
The purpose of the on-line forum is to engage with you, regarding the
outputs that the COMMVAC project has achieved so far. *Our main aim is to
discuss your views and ideas on priorities for systematic reviews.* A
systematic review is a summary of existing research evidence that addresses
a clearly formulated question using systematic and explicit methods to
identify, select and critically appraise relevant research, and to collect
and analyse data from the studies that are included in the review.

Your input will help to ensure the relevance and usefulness of the work
undertaken in the next stage of the project. Your input will also contribute
to improving the evidence base for communication regarding childhood
vaccination and to informing practice in the field. We welcome contributions
from stakeholders involved in policy development, design, management,
implementation and evaluation of vaccination, communications, health
education and community-based programmes across all settings.

The Norwegian Knowledge Centre for the Health Services and the University of
Cape Town’s Vaccines for Africa initiative (VACFA) in collaboration with
their partners.  The forum will be moderated by Charles Shey Wiysonge, VACFA
project manager and Jessica Kaufman, Research Officer, La Trobe University,
Melbourne. Postings and discussion in both English and French are welcome.
Daily summaries of inputs will be posted online and a final summary will
also be made available to all participants.

Sur les priorités pour les revues systématiques d’interventions visant à
améliorer la communication entre les parents et le personnel de santé sur la
vaccination infantile dans les pays à faibles et moyens revenus.





Le but de la consultation virtuelle

Le projet ‘Communiquer pour Vacciner’ (COMMVAC) est un consortium de cinq
organisations dont l’objectif est de développer les données probantes pour
améliorer la communication en matière de vaccination infantile dans les pays
à faibles et moyens revenus (pour plus d'informations, voir: www.commvac.com
). Le but du forum virtuel est de s'engager avec vous, sur les produits et
outils que le projet COMMVAC a développé à ce jour. Notre but principal
étant de discuter de vos points de vue sur quelles devraient être les
priorités pour les revues systématiques d’interventions visant à améliorer
la communication entre les parents et le personnel de santé sur la
vaccination infantile dans les pays à faibles et moyens revenus.  Une revue
systématique consiste à identifier, évaluer et synthétiser toutes les études
traitant d'un sujet donné. Son objectif est de répondre à une question
précise dans le domaine de la santé.



Votre contribution contribuera à s’assurer la pertinence et l’utilité du
travail à effectuer dans la prochaine étape du projet. Nous accueillons les
contributions des parties prenantes impliquées dans l'élaboration des
politiques, la conception, la gestion, la mise en œuvre et l'évaluation de
la vaccination, la communication, l'éducation sanitaire et des programmes
communautaires dans tous les milieux.

Initiative (VACFA)’ de l’Université du Cap en collaboration avec leurs
partenaires. Le forum virtuel sera animé par Charles Shey Wiysonge, chef de
projet VACFA, et Jessica Kaufman, attachée de recherche à l'Université La
Trobe, Melbourne. Les annonces et  discussions en français ou en anglais
sont les bienvenues. Des résumés quotidiens seront affichés en ligne et un
résumé final sera également mis à la disposition de tous les participants.
