> Our PHM friends from Space Allies, a Japanese organisation working on issues
> of reproductive rights, women and human rights, have raised concerns that
> the male dominated rescue system will ignore the needs of women and
> vulnerable people. They have handed a petition to government officials
> demanding:

> 1) prevention sexual assault in evacuation centres, support for survivor of
> sexual assault, and setting up safer space,

> 2) putting priority to the emergency obstetric service and fulfilment of
> reproductive health services, and
>
> 3)ensuring privacy and safety for all women at the shelter.

> Space Allies is appealing for support and donations to JOICFP, Japanese
> Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning, who is
> raising funds for reproductive health needs and newborn care in earthquake /
