The World Health Organization (WHO) Guidance Global Network invites you to
join the WHO Virtual Global Discussion Forum:
"Optimizing the roles of Health Workers to attain MDGs 4 and 5," 8 - 16
November, 2010

WHO is convening this virtual discussion forum to identify and prioritize
various dimensions of optimizing the roles of health workers to achieve MDGs
4 and 5.

Join this forum to share your views on identifying and prioritizing
effective practices which can be delivered safely by community health
workers, nurses, midwives and other professional cadres to accelerate the
reduction of maternal and newborn mortality.

Your input will contribute to the development of WHO evidence-based
recommendations and guidelines on optimizing health workers roles to improve
maternal and newborn health at the primary and community health care level.
The outcomes of this discussion will inform a WHO technical consultation on
this topic scheduled for 6-8 December 2010. This work will also build on
earlier recommendations on task shifting to deliver HIV-related services,
the retention of rural health work force as well as several clinical
guidelines on maternal and newborn health.
