Dear Colleagues,
The debate that pits AIDS funding against other global health funding is
problematic at best and does little to address the fact that more
funding is needed for addressing global health in general.
This summer (2009) PHR interns developed the following video to direct
attention to this divisive and unhelpful debate. The PHR interns hope
this simple message cuts through the rancor and recrimination that has
characterized this discussion and elevates the need for increasing funds
for global health overall.
It is not that HIV/AIDS is getting too much money, at the expense of
other critical global health programs. It is that the global health
funding "pie" is too small-we need to make it bigger for all.
PHR interns worked on this 2 minute video to illustrate why more money
is needed for global health. Check out "More Pie Please" at

Pass it on to your friends, colleagues, family, neighbors - anyone you
know. Let's not cut each other down but instead advocate for a bigger
pie - for US global health funding - Period.
Warm wishes,
