Here is an interesting blog from the Center for Global Development, a Washington based think tank addressing the issue of corporate liability when conducting clinical trials in developing countries. The author presents and comments the Pfizer case (in 1996, Pfizer conducted a clinical trial of Trovan, a new antibiotic, on children during an outbreak of bacterial meningitis in Kano, Nigeria which according to trial participants lead to the death of eleven children):
