Thank you for sharing this important info. The Thai govt. sets a great
example to all. I already suggested that WHO should  study the impact of
different approaches to health budget on health during  the last financial
crisis especially the Thai approach. The Thai approach should be recommend
to other developing (and developed) countries at the time of financial
crisis

The Thai government decided last month to reduce the 2010 overall public
budget
by 13% but to increase the budget for the universal health insurance by
almost
10%. This is mainly to protect the health of the poor and those who will be
unemployed. Hope that this can be a good example for the PHM to use for its
movement.
