Management Sciences for Health is pleased to announce the availability
of the 2008 edition of the International Drug Price Indicator Guide. The
Guide provides a spectrum of prices from 25 sources, including
pharmaceutical suppliers, international development organizations, and
government agencies. The Guide assists supply officers to determine the
probable cost of pharmaceutical products for their programs, allows
users to compare current prices paid to prices available on the
international market or assess the potential financial impact of changes
to a medicines list, and helps to support rational medicine use
education.

The 2008 edition of the Guide includes nearly 50 new items (for a total
of more than 1,200 items). The therapeutic classes with the most new
entries this year are anti-infectives (especially antiretroviral and
antimalarial medicines) and diagnostics.

This edition of the Guide was produced in collaboration with the World
Health Organization. Development and publication was supported by the UK
Department for International Development (DFID) and the Medicines
Transparency Alliance (MeTA).

The Web version of the 2008 edition is posted on the Manager's
Electronic Resource Center (http://erc.msh.org/), along with data from
the 1996 edition to the present. We encourage you to visit the site and
explore special features that you can use to create custom lists of
medicines, compare your prices, and plan a budget.

To order a CD-ROM copy, visit MSH's eBookstore at
http://www.msh.org/resource-center/ebookstore/ , or e-mail us at
bookstore at msh.org.

If you would like to contribute your organization's price information to
the next edition of the Guide, please contact me at jfrye at msh.org. I
would be delighted to discuss this with you.
