*The Cameroonian government blocks the hospital reform!*
Since 2003, the Cameroonian Ministry of public health is preparing a
hospital reform in twelve fields with the global objective to reduce to 1/3
the global morbidity and mortality rate of vulnerable populations in 2010.
This objective is easy to check through a good governance and improvement of
the quality of services and cares in sanitary facilities, a good training of
the health personnel, researches adapted to the health system needs and
equitable access of populations to health services and cares.
The Minister for public health of the time, M. Urbain Olanguena Awono, had
given a five years schedule for this historical innovation that fits with
the Millennium Development Objectives (Mdo) to be achieved in 2008. Since
then, it is the radio silence!
*The hospital reform is blocked in the ministry of public health! M. André
Mama Fouda observes an embarrassing silence, given that the objectives aimed
for the reform could be hard to achieve in 2010 while poor populations will
continue to make great sacrifices to be treated. *

Action for humane hospitals (Acthu), at the bedside of patients, holds the
Minister of public health responsible for the sanitary disaster that touches
the majority of Cameroonians because of the blocking of that reform.
*Acthu asks for the immediate starting up of the hospital reform which would
be a solution to mistreatments that affect patients daily in our hospitals.

Health is a non negotiable right!
