PHA-Exch> New Website on Disability and the MDGs

Dear all

To coincide with this week's high level meeting in New York on the MDGs,
the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) and the
Millennium Campaign are launching a new web site on disability and the
MDGs - http://www.includeeverybody.org <http://www.includeeverybody.org>


The site aims to raise awareness among the general public, NGOs, donors
and governments about the need for the MDGs and poverty reduction
programmes to address disability. 1 in 5 of the world's poorest people
are disabled, yet they are rarely considered in plans and programmes to
meet the MDGs, including those on health. With the recent report from
the Commission on the Social Determinants of Health, this is a timely
moment for the health community to consider disability as a barrier to
accessing health services.

The website is a work in progress and IDDC wants to link it to as many
other sites, sources and organisations as possible. Any comments or
suggestions from you would be gratefully received.

Please do share this widely among your colleagues and contacts.
