It is important to remember that 100years ago women had raised their voice
for
 1. the 8 hour working day as they were being made to work for endless
hours , a situation that still continues for millions of women
2 For fixing of minimum wages - men & women pushed to the wall accept much
less & that too under obnoxious working conditions .
3 Right to vote .
In patriachal societies the right to be treated as human beings , the right
for a girl child to be born, are seen as unjust demands , Increasing
societal & gender violence reflects the unacceptability of the fact that
women should be treated in a way not violative of their sense of Dignity &
personhood.
Today women gathered at India Gate for Social Justice .
We all marched for Gender justice in Politics , legislation making &
implementing , Health Education etc .
We met the Vice president & the Prime Minister Dr ManMohan Singh with a
Charter of Demands which includes Health Care & Medicines & more .
