We've just produced two articles which may be of interest.

The first is a (fairly scathing) assessment of the latest much-hyped
poverty projections from the World Bank, "Whistling in the Dark: Why the
World Bank's Latest Poverty Projections are Meaningless". This is
available at
http://www.jubileeresearch.org/news/Comment%20on%20Global%20Ec%20Prospec
ts%202007.pdf.

The second is a comment piece I was invited to write for The Lancet on
US "vote-buying" in the UN Security Council (but actually extending to
the IMF, World Bank and WTO). This is availale on The Lancet web-site
(accessible from
http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/section?volume=369&issue=9555&s
ection=Comment
<blocked::http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/section?volume=369&is
sue=9555&section=Comment> - free registration required), or at
http://www.jubileeresearch.org/news/LancetCmtFinal.doc.

All the best

David Woodward

DID YOU KNOW? It takes $166 of global growth to reduce poverty by $1, up
from $45 in the 1980s.
