*ACTIVITIES REPORT DISABILITY AND ECONOMICS CIRCLE – DEC-PHM*

*Latest hot news: formation of a Right to Health committee with Unions, 
mutual insurances, NGOs and activists.*
Last week 60 people from France’s Trade Unions, hospital management, mutual 
insurances, economists, all activists in the ATTAC and left NGOs and 
parties - anti-liberal policy action group on Health met from the Haute 
Savoie region of France.
DEC PHM presented the CAMPAIGN FOR THE RIGHT TO HEALTH, with examples from 
Abhay Shukla’s work with the People’s Tribunal in India, followed by a 
discussion presentation on Cuenca’s and IPHU’s evidence of destruction of 
health services, e.g.  El Salvador - and the presentation then went into 
poverty + HIV in Africa,and now raging epidemic of XDR tuberculosis

The evening and following full day meeting concluded with the formation of a 
Regional TASK FORCE on the RIGHT TO HEALTH.

*This regional action group will further make a proposal to the National 
Health task force meeting next month in Paris.
