Dear colleagues,

3D has published a note entitled “Human rights and the establishment of the
WIPO Development Agenda.”

The note provides advocates, policy-makers and World Intellectual Property
Organization (WIPO) Member States with a brief outline of the human rights
arguments that support proposals for a WIPO Development Agenda. It also aims
to encourage WIPO Member States to draft a decision for submission at the
WIPO General Assembly in September 2006 that is consistent with their human
rights and development commitments.

WIPO Member States are meeting in Geneva for the second session of the
Provisional Committee on Proposals Related to a WIPO Development Agenda
(PCDA), from 26 to 30 June 2006. This meeting follows on from discussions
spear-headed by the “Group of Friends of Development” in 2004 and 2005.

The note can be downloaded from 3D’s website from the following link:

Sincerely,

Davinia
