CHANGE OF WEBSITE HUB 
FROM 1st OCTOBER 2005

 

Dear Friends, 

 

At the PHM steering group meeting at Cuenca on 23rd July, it was suggested that Prem John would be incharge of a process to evolve a Communication Strategy for PHM and would be supported by Bert (Belgium), David Legge (Australia) and Sarah (USA) in this process.  

 

One of the first responsibilities was to start a communication circle particularly focused on the PHM website and to identify a new base and a new editor since the Bangalore team would not be available to run it after 30th September 2005. 

 

We are glad to announce that this process has progressed well and from 1st October 2005, 'Wim De Cuekelaire' of the Belgian NGO intal /MATW and also PHM - Belgium will take over as the web editor from Nisha Susan (who managed this responsibility till recently, supported by Abraham and Prasanna in the PHM secretariat in Bangalore). 

 

Wim has worked for more than 8 years in the Philippines, trying to put his knowledge and skills at the service of poor peasants, workers and slum dwellers.  Those who want to know more about this experience should refer to the Philippine web zine Bulatlat:http://www.bulatlat.com/news/4-41/4-41-belgian.html.  Apart from this, he has been coordinating the international campaign of health activists against the war on Iraq and the Health Now! Campaign and website (http://www.health-now.org) since the start of this year he also coordinates partnerships on behalf of his Belgian NGO intal / MATW with health organizations in Cuba in Congo, the Philippines, Palestine and other countries. 

 

Wim will be supported in this task by a PHM Communications Circle - which will include not only all those who have been involved with the PHM and PHA2 websites, but also the web managers / editors of all the regional and country related websites.

We would also like to thank at this moment Andrew Chetley, Nand, Prasanna, Abraham, Nisha and all the others who contributed to the PHM website maintenance function during the phase it was hosted by the Bangalore Secretariat.
