You are invited to participate in shaping the World health report 2006,

In response to World Health Assembly resolution WHA57.19, the
Director-General has declared the health workforce to be the theme of
the World health report 2006. And for the first time, WHO is offering
open consultation on the World health report via the World Wide Web and
electronic mail. Broad participation is encouraged - from schools for
the health professions to national and international financing
institutions to the ultimate beneficiaries of health services, the
general public.

Proposed title: World health report 2006: working for health

The Report is being coordinated by a WHO team under the guidance of Dr
Tim Evans, Assistant Director-General of the Evidence and Information
for Policy cluster. Data collection and analytical work are well under
way. Consultation on the draft outline has already taken place within
WHO and is continuing with representatives of a number of professional
associations, donor agencies and nongovernmental organizations. Comments
already received are summarized in this working outline.

The draft Report is scheduled to be available by the end of October
2005, after which further consultation will take place. The Report will
be launched on World Health Day, 7 April 2006.
