Announcement
Advanced Short Course on Health Sector Reform and Financing

15 - 26 August 2005

The aim of this popular 2-week course at the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam (KIT) is to assist participants in understanding the context and scope of the current reforms and financing options in the health sector of developing countries, their effects on equity and efficiency and their relation to poverty reduction and development in general. The course gives a broad overview of these issues and will update your knowledge to the state-of-the-art level. Particular attention is given to interlinkages between reforms. The different sessions are facilitated by technical experts from KIT, World Bank, WHO and other respectable organisations, all of whom are excellent teachers that bring recent field experience to the course.

Participants of the course will be senior managers who are actively involved in planning, management and evaluation of health sector reforms in developing countries, either working in Ministries of Health, embassies, international organizations, or NGOs.

More detailed information on the course, as well as the specific topics that will be addressed, can be found on the KIT website by clicking the following link: http://www.kit.nl/development/html/health_sector_reform_and_finan.asp. >From this website you can also download a course brochure and application form.
