Everybody in Nepal knows that the military smashed the last political
dialogue between the government and the Maoists, and blocked the possibility
for a new dialogue for peace. The king's declaration has really blocked the
chance for peace through dialogue forever.People of Nepal can not be
fooled.Power drunk despots have always a short life span.
Anybody thinking that peace in Nepal is possible without a political
dialogue with the Maoists is the wrong mental frame .

I hope the Nepal's military will come to senses to forsake the
gun-culture that dehumanize them and their environment. Actions like
imprisoning the people in military barracks often without warrant,
extrajudicial executions, torture and assaults of the prisoners, censure and
edition of the news and programs in print and electronic media by the
military personnel, and several other human rights violations are tantamount
to crimes against History.

I am happy that international community is in firm solidarity with the
people of Nepal . Their moral support will certainly keep up the confidence
of the people towards democracy. However, US government has given 100 days
to this royal government. US administration should respect the sentiment of
the people of Nepal and stand for democracy. India has decided to continue
its aid with the words,"That it should not mean that she supported the state
of emergency and the king's takeover". I appreciate noninterference. But I
expect these countries to learn that aiding this government is
un-democratic.
