Subject: Public health workers in danger in Colombia

In the last year, the Secretary of the Municipal Health Service in Bogota,
Dr.Roman Vega, has being implementing family and community based public
health
programs in that city, to counter the effects of the increasing of the
poverty
and to recover the public health principles undermined by the current
National
Health System.

In the last weeks Dr. Vega reported having received death threats related to
his role and programs hold in the Secretary. This petition is a call to ask
the national autorities a deep investigation about the threat's responsables
as well as protection to the physical integrity of the public health
workers.
