PHA-Exchange> Safe Health Care is a conerstone of HIV prevention

The importance of safe health care as a cornerstone of HIV prevention needs to be clearly highlighted in the People's Health Movement Charter.  The most effective HIV prevention programs in rich countries have  been and remain the prevention of HIV transmission in the delivery of health care.

The PHM cannot accept a double standard between rich and poor countries in HIV prevention.

It is essential to ensure that health care is safe - and that people undergoing treatment or prevention are not exposed to HIV infections. 

The PHM should actively organize to ensure that no one is infected with HIV while obtaining health care.
