Since today morning there have been many guerilla style demonstration demonstration from many places from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, patan,kirtipur, Pokhara, Biratnagar, Jhapa, Janakpur, Chitawan, Nawalparasi, Nepalgunj etc. Suddenly there would appear hundreds of demonstrators, give fiery speech, raise slogan against the king and retrogression, and for democratic republic. As soon as police approached they would disappear to reappear in other parts. In several places effigies of the king were burnt. Torch demonstrations were also held in many places in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. In Bagbazar several girl students were wounded and arrested. The police even beat and arrested the persons helping the wounded to take to the nearby hospital. Wounded were denied treatment.

Yesterday all the prisoners from Halchok Barrack were released. But Hon.Leealmani, MP and 7 others belonging to his party were rearrested immediately after their release from the very gate of the detention center. There whereabouts is not known. It is surprising to all why they are arrested again.

Yesterday again, seven student organizations jointly conducted an opinion poll to choose one among Democratic republic system as political outcome for Nepal, constitutional monarchy and active monarchy. Among the random sample interviewed , a total of 1,417 responded in which 1,182 voted for democratic republic, 197 for constitutional monarchy and only 17 for active monarchy. The opinion survey was completed in spite of repeated interference from police.
