Dear All

The security force in Kathmandu exhibited their force most ferociously so far in the present series people's movement. More than 250 were wounded with baton charges, tear-gas canisters, 'box-shot' lead coated rubber bullets and stones. Seven members of dissolved parliament including four previous ministers were injured. Bamdev Gautam - previous home minister, Ramsaran Mahat- previous Finance Minister, Jagrit Bhetwal - Ex MP were among the injured. Most sustained severe soft tissue injury, longitudinal bruises, lacerated wounds and multiple gunshot wounds in head, back, chest, waist and buttocks. A 6 year old boy was among the victim. The condition of Bamdev is serious and is admitted in Kathmandu Model Hospital. Report about several serious victims are still coming. In Bir hospital as of 7.00PM yesterday 65 victims were registered. One health staff estimated 105 victims there including those yet to be registered. At about the same time Model Hospital had registered 57, Miteri hospital 13 and rest (about 80) in several other hospitals.

Several Human Rights organizations appealed yesterday cessation of state atrocity and both sides to prevent further escalation.
